STARZPLAY presents MalaYerba, its first Spanish-language original series
STARZPLAY never ceases to surprise us, and this time they have done so with the announcement of the premiere of its first original production in Spanish, MalaYerba, a series created and starring Latin American talent. Filmed entirely in Colombia, the series shows us a different vision of the drug business, with a current and relevant story about the legalization of medical cannabis, business and interpersonal relationships.
MalaYerba is a suspense series that revolves around Mariana, Felix and Ignacio; three young Colombian entrepreneurs, who take advantage of the fact that the country has legalized cannabis for medicinal use. Using their connections and a very special seed, they create the company KannaLab. The business is an instant success and everything goes great for these young entrepreneurs, until the ambitious journalist Lola appears and investigates the dark secret behind the special seed used to make their product.
The series stars Colombian television stars Maria Elisa Camargo (“Tarde lo Conoci”) as Mariana, Sebastian Eslava (“Distrito Salvaje”) as Felix, Juan Pablo Urrego (“Historia de un Crimen: Colmenares”) as Ignacio and Carolina Gaitan (“Sin Senos no hay paraíso”) as Lola. The creators of MalaYerba are Natalia Echeverri and Andres Beltran (“Distrito Salvaje”), with a script by Esteban Orozco (“Nómadas”). With this premiere, STARZPLAY continues to go all out to conquer the Latin American audience with amazing talent and stories.
This new series is told in 10 episodes that will be released weekly starting Sunday, October 31 and you can watch them exclusively on STARZPLAY.
