Season 1 Overview

Set in Hollywood, Party Down follows a group of aspiring actors and writers who work for a catering company to make ends meet. Season 1 introduces viewers to the quirky cast of characters who make up the catering company. The main character, Henry Pollard (Adam Scott), is a failed actor who has returned to LA to make ends meet. The rest of the team includes Ron Donald (Ken Marino), a former actor turned caterer; Casey Klein (Lizzy Caplan), a struggling comedian; Kyle Bradway (Ryan Hansen), an aspiring actor and writer; and Roman DeBeers (Martin Starr), a struggling screenwriter. Throughout the first season, viewers are treated to a hilarious look at the characters’ ups and downs of trying to make it in Hollywood, all while balancing the demands of a catering business.

Season 2 Overview

Season 2 of Party Down sees the catering company taking on bigger challenges and new catering events, from a swingers party to a funeral. The second season also introduces new characters, including Lydia Dunfree (Megan Mullally), a successful producer who takes an interest in Henry’s writing. Meanwhile, Ron gets involved with a group of gangsters, leading to all kinds of hijinks and mishaps. Throughout the season, viewers are treated to more of the same clever writing and laugh-out-loud moments that made the first season such a hit.
