Calling all true crime fans: are you ready for the television event of the year!? The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast is now streaming on the LIONSGATE+ app. Produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, this eight-episode docuseries charts the unbelievable story of the Black Mafia Family’s drug empire. The Flenory Brothers are the infamous masterminds behind the BMF, and the docuseries takes a deep dive into how they grew their Detroit operations into a national empire powered by cocaine and hip-hop.

If you binged the first season of LIONSGATE+’s scripted drama about BMF, then you must see this limited docuseries!

Want to find out more? Read on to learn about what the The BMF Documentary has in store for you.

1. The docuseries focuses on one of the wealthiest drug empires in American history

What’s a true crime docuseries without a compelling crime at its center? In the late 1980’s, Demetrius “Big Meech” and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory created the Black Mafia Family, a money laundering and drug-trafficking empire. What started as small-time drug-dealing expanded into a multi-city distribution network disguised as the hip-hop studio “BMF Entertainment.” Through this front, the Flenory Brothers promoted their own artist, Bleu Da Vinci, and flaunted their extravagant lifestyle with hip-hop celebrities. By the time the DEA shut BMF down, it was estimated that the empire had acquired an illicit profit of $270 million.

2. The docuseries features never-before-seen content

Even if you consider yourself a BMF expert, The BMF Documentary promises to show exclusive content for its viewers. The docuseries will include celebrity interviews, archival footage, and other first-hand accounts to best capture BMF’s volatile trajectory. LIONSGATE+ has shared few details about which BMF members will show up onscreen, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the Flenory Brothers themselves make an appearance–especially since Big Meech is still alive! We’ll have to tune in to find out for sure.

3. The docuseries shares more details than the LIONSGATE+ Original series

The BMF Documentary follows the addictive first season of the LIONSGATE+ Original BMF, another 50 Cent project. This drama series stars Da’Vinchi as Southwest T and Big Meech’s own son as his younger self. While the fictional series dramatizes the Flenory Brothers’ early years in Detroit, the docuseries uncovers the full progression of their drug empire. Together, the two series give hours for anyone wanting to sink their teeth into this fascinating true crime story. And this isn’t the end! BMF was already renewed for a second season, which will premiere in January 2023. This gives you plenty of time to binge all of the BMF content before the end of 2022!

4. You can watch The BMF Documentary and other LIONSGATE Original content for FREE for 7 days on the LIONSGATE+ app

Lucky for all of us, the LOINSGATE+ app is currently offering a 7 day free trial. That means you can catch The BMF Documentary for FREE! This offer is available for a limited time only – don’t miss out!
